The longer my story on this planet unfolds, the more acutely aware I become that the very true purpose of our existence – outside of everything and anything material – is to serve. The very reason a ton of humans were put on a planet at the same time was to teach, and therefore, learn in our relating to one another.
As A Course In Miracles says, the question is NOT to teach or not to teach, because we are ALWAYS teaching. We teach by our example. We teach what we believe. We teach by what we say, how we live, and how we treat others. The question then is, what WILL we teach?
Not every heart possesses within it the same call to service. For some, their teaching may very well be satisfied by serving at a very immediate radius – family, well known friends, relatives, etc. For others, however, the call will be FAR more expansive. They will have felt, potentially for their entire lives, that the reason they are here is to impact as many other souls as possible in the course of their incarnated experience.
Once this recognition of calling has been acknowledged, it becomes imperative to ask oneself then – what will my platform be? Where will I start? Where I start, may not be where I end, but where will I START? How do I wish to serve? What point of contact can I create so that I am living joyfully in my service to others and, therefore, serving myself. Because, again, A Course In Miracles says that we are not separate from others – we are others.
It is in this recognition that I invite you to consider your platform. I have spent the last nine months of my journey on this planet, helping others (read: myself, also), learn about taking care of their mind, their body, and their spirit. Predominantly, I have taught them how to care for their bodies. I have done this because I understand that before awareness can encompass an intangible thing – i.e. mind & spirit – it can quite easily understand a tangible thing, i.e. body.
In teaching others how to care for their bodies and how to set themselves up for success here, I am inadvertently preparing them for greater stages of awareness. It is my way of making initial contact with this sacred process of elevating my brothers and sisters into higher and higher levels of awareness.
For nine months I have been a Team Beachbody Coach. And on surface, the job appears very…surface. As the name falsely implies, it appears that the sole purpose and focus of this work is to generate replica “beach bodies” to parade in the world for the effect of “pleasing the eye”. Depending on the teacher, again, the message will shift accordingly.
In my nine months of service to this work, that has never once been the focus of it. Instead, this has become my platform to invite others (read:myself) even deeper into their self-love, their inner sense of harmony, and their deeper sense of self-understanding. It has allowed me a vehicle to organize someone’s rituals and habits in a way that serves them more mindfully in the care of their bodies, and by doing so, allows them a window to see just how it could serve them in other ways, ALSO.
When we achieve something we had considered ‘impossible’ with our bodies, when we can see with our eyes a testament to an achievement we had never considered a possibility, suddenly, we get BOLDER. And this courage extends everywhere in our lives, affecting EVERY part of our lives. And THIS is why I chose Beachbody as my platform.
